YardMaster has been a fixture in Swainsboro since they opened as a small, part-time seasonal business in 1986. They expanded into a full-time business in 1994, and by 1997 was known as a family owned and operated retail establishment. They grew from one small building into a full-size office, retail showroom, warehouse and nursery and were awarded Small Business of the Year by the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce in 2001. Owned by Frank and Teah Canady, Yardmaster is the place in Swainsboro to get a variety of home and garden supplies.
The store is known for its seasonal specials, such as Christmas Trees in the winter, pumpkins in the fall, seeds and plants year around and chickens, ducks, turkeys and rabbits in the spring.
The sheer variety of products YardMaster carries is staggering. They have everything from grills to home decor to seeds to guns, ammunition and hunting supplies. This past year, they added lines of Red Wing and Carhartt boots, Shindawa outdoor power equipment, and recently, they began stocking Traeger wood-burning grills.
“We carry a very diverse stock for the whole family at competitive prices,” says Teah Canady. “If we don’t have it, we’ll find it for you.”
YardMaster also carries safes, fish for pond stocking, outdoor furniture, fencing supplies and gates, drain pipes and leaching chambers. Hunting equipment, farm supplies, shrubbery, fertilizer and three lines of feed for every animal round out the stock of the store. But that is by no means all that can be found at YardMaster. They also offer lawn maintenance and landscaping services.
“We work hard and our kids work hard here. We’re proud of the growth we’ve done,” says Canady.
